Gov. Ned Lamont announced Tuesday that residents aged 65 to 74 will be the next group of Connecticut residents to become eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations, likely beginning in early February. Frontline essential workers, including teachers and restaurant workers, will become eligible after that, with appointments for that group likely beginning in late February or early March.
Lamont also said that residents and staff of congregate settings — including prisons, group homes and homeless shelters — will be vaccinated throughout the ongoing Phase 1B, on a separate but parallel timeline from the rest of the rollout.
For now, until vaccinations open to residents aged 65 to 74 in early February, the current vaccination appointments are only open to residents who are aged 75 and older.
