Concerns about coronavirus outbreaks mean three of the biggest fairs and festivals in central Connecticut won’t be held this year, organizers announced this week.
In the past few days, organizers said there will be no Little Poland Festival in New Britain this year. Bristol won’t hold its heavily attended Mum Festival, and Southington will skip its popular Apple Harvest Festival.
Each of those events draws tens of thousands of people in normal years, and promoters stressed that they fully expect to return in 2021.
But concerns about the coronavirus — along with financial damage from the statewide shutdown this year — means it’s best to skip 2020, said organizers of the Southington Apple Harvest Festival.
