A heat advisory is in effect for Connecticut until 8 p.m. Monday, the National Weather Service says.
“Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside,” meteorologists warned in an alert. “When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.”
There also is a chance of isolated, strong thunderstorms in eastern Connecticut between, 12-7 p.m., the weather service said. Expect heavy rain, flash floods, strong wind and lightning.
The heat advisory originally was for Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties, but it since has been expanded.
