UNCASVILLE — Nothing says transition in professional sports like a good trade. And this winter, the Connecticut Sun made one with Seattle that spoke purposefully about the direction each franchise was taking.
The Sun sent veteran guard Renee Montgomery and the third pick in the 2015 draft to the Storm for forwards Camille Little and Shekinna Stricklen.
On draft day, the Storm turned that pick into UConn's Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis, college basketball's all-time leader in three-pointers. Mosqueda-Lewis joins Montgomery, Sue Bird and Notre Dame's Jewell Loyd, the first pick, in the process of reconstructing the 2010 league champion.
