State environmental officials on Sunday morning closed what could be the first of several Connecticut state parks as capacity reduced to enforce social distancing was quickly exceeded.
The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection shut the Collis P. Huntington State Park in Newtown, Bethel and Redding because the parking lot had filled to capacity.
