The state’s central phone system and website was booking appointments for the newly eligible group on Monday, and some additional vaccine providers said that they were prepared to begin booking appointments as soon as the state formally announced the expansion. But with ongoing vaccine shortages nationwide, it will be weeks before everyone who’s now eligible will actually receive their first shot.
Gov. Ned Lamont has not yet formally announced the expansion, but a spokesperson for the governor’s office confirmed that the state planned to formally expand on Monday and said that the state sent out guidance to vaccine providers over the weekend.
