Connecticut is preparing for a major snowstorm Wednesday into Thursday that may dump as much as 18 inches in places.
The snow will fall hard during the overnight hours creating white-out conditions, said Andrew Loconto, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
The snow should start falling in Connecticut by 10 p.m., he said, and “once it comes down, it’s gonna come down hard.” Snow may fall at a rate of 1-2 inches an hour.
“Most of Connecticut should see a good foot of snow, Loconto said. Some spots, especially towns near the shore, may fall shy of one foot and others, like places in the northern and western part of the state, may see as many as 18 inches.
