U.S. Rep. Jahana Hayes said zoom bombers interrupted a virtual meeting with Newtown residents by subjecting participants to racist comments and offensive music.
Hayes apologized to her constituents in a tweet shortly before 7 p.m. Monday: “I’m so sorry to the people of Newtown who had to sit through this zoom bombing episode. During our virtual conversation these people continued to call me the N-word, play disgusting derogatory music and flood the chat with comments like this.”
Hayes said, “This behavior is being normalized! We can ALL choose not to accept it. Please vote on November 3rd.
