Cold temperatures ahead after storm drops a few inches of snow on Connecticut, prompting school delays

After the latest Connecticut snowstorm brightened the landscape with a few inches and petered out, meteorologists Wednesday looked ahead to frigid temperatures in coming days and the possibility of more snow on Monday.

The snow started Tuesday afternoon and continued falling lightly for more than 15 hours in much of the state, leaving 3.8 inches in Killingly, 3.5 inches in Burlington and 3 inches in Stafford, said William Babcock, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. As of 9:50 p.m. Tuesday, West Hartford had 3 inches, he said.
