The longtime location of the Children’s Museum -- prime real estate a block from West Hartford Center -- is up for sale.
The owner, neighboring Kingswood Oxford School, has listed the nearly 3.5-acre parcel at 950 Trout Brook Drive, near the intersection of Farmington Avenue without an asking price.
In a letter Tuesday to neighboring landowners, the school said the decision comes as the museum announced plans to relocate and the 110-year old school embarked on a planning process to guide its future growth.
“...We have decided that selling this property would make the most significant impact to advance our strategic goals, enabling us to support faculty and staff professional growth, bolster student financial aid resources, plan for new campus facilities and expand academic and experiential programming,” the letter signed by Tom Dillow, the head of the school and I.
