Celebrity pizzeria owner ‘Lord of the Pies’ gets 30 days in prison for cheating on his taxes

A celebrity, Connecticut pizza maker known as “Lord of the Pies,” was sentenced to 30 days in prison for tax evasion Thursday.

Bruno DiFabio, 51, of Ridgefield has appeared on the Food Network and has been a judge on the television show Chopped.

He was accused of failing to pay income and payroll tax. He owns a chain or pizza restaurants and has an interest in others along near the state border in Connecticut and New York.

U.S. District Judge Victor Bolden also ordered DiFabio to pay about $817,000 to cover the government’s tax loss 2013 to 2016.
