A Central Connecticut State University student from Newtown died at the hospital Monday from injuries he suffered in a one-car crash a day earlier, police said.
Brandon Hensel, 22, was driving his Ford Explorer north on Toddy Hill Road in Newtown just after 5 a.m. Sunday when he struck a curb and left the roadway, striking numerous objects and crossing back over another street before the vehicle came to rest in a yard off Quarry Ridge Road, according to a news release.
“We spoke with his mother this morning and offered our heartfelt condolences,” she wrote. “As soon as we have additional information about how to support his family and commemorate his life, we will be back in touch.
