Bristol Eastern High School closes for two days after suspected COVID-19 case

BRISTOL — Bristol educators are calling off classes at one of the city’s two high schools temporarily because of a possible second COVID-19 case.

Bristol Eastern High School had a cohort of students stay home Monday after learning that one student had tested positive.

When a student at the school - from a different cohort - exhibited symptoms on Wednesday, the school was closed for today and Friday.

The staff will do deep cleaning and await test results from the student involved. The decision shuts down all before- and after school activities, sports and weekend events.
