Stewart received the prestigious honor and also saw her name on a list of the most powerful women in the sports world.
Every year, Honda presents an award to the athlete they judge to be the collegiate woman of the year. A UConn women's hooper has won the award four times in its 39-year history. Breanna Stewart was named the 40th winner on Tuesday morning.
Stewart joined Rebecca Lobo, Jennifer Rizzotti and Maya Moore, who won the award twice.
Stewart's senior year performance included an undefeated season and a fourth consecutive national title. She also won her fourth Final Four Most Outstanding Player this past season (no one has won more than two) and swept all relevant 2016 player of the year awards.
