A body has been pulled from a lake in Winchester, according to a spokesman for the state’s environmental agency.
Police from the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection responded to Winchester Lake Tuesday morning after learning that firefighters had recovered a male’s body. He was near an overturned canoe, Will Healey said.
He was reported missing to Winchester police Monday night, and his car was found near the lake’s boat launch, Healey said.
Staff at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of his death. His name is being withheld until his family may be notified of his death.
