HARTFORD — A preliminary report is expected Tuesday on a Hartford police officer’s fatal shooting of an armed suspect Saturday night, the Chief State’s Attorney’s Office said Monday.
The confrontation between police and the unidentified suspect, who reportedly refused to drop a rifle and handgun, is being investigated by Margaret E. Kelley, the State’s Attorney for the Ansonia-Milford Judicial District, and the Eastern District Major Crimes Squad of the State Police.
Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin said Sunday he was urging Kelley to release all information, including body camera footage, as early as Monday. However, the soonest that the state’s attorney’s office will release the footage and a preliminary report is Tuesday, according to Alaine Griffin, communications director for the state Division of Criminal Justice.
