A Bloomfield man was arrested Tuesday after police said he strangled another person and threatened to shoot them with what turned out to be a BB gun.
Ryan Thompson, 39, was tracked down a short time later inside the West Farms Mall, where police swarmed the area and Thompson was taken into custody without incident, police said.
Thompson was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree strangulation, first-degree threatening, interfering with a 911 call and two counts of risk of injury to a child, Capt. Stephen Hajdasz said.
Bloomfield police were originally called Tuesday morning to a home on Ellsworth Drive for a reported domestic disturbance during which a firearm was displayed.
