A supporter of outgoing President Donald Trump is suspected of pepper spraying a member of a Black Lives Matter rally at dueling gatherings Saturday afternoon in Coventry in the hours after news networks projected President-elect Joe Biden won last week’s general election.
One Black Lives Matter supporter and one Trump supporter were affected by the pepper spray, but no one was seriously hurt or transported to the hospital and paramedics checked one of them at the scene, Coventry Police Chief Mark Palmer said Monday.
Investigators are now searching for two people captured on video at the event underneath a Trump flag for questioning regarding the incident, Palmer said.
