UConn ace Ben Casparius saved his best performance yet for the Huskies first ever home game under the lights at Elliot Ballpark, throwing a complete game shutout in a 10-0 victory over Georgetown to open the series.
The North Carolina transfer was in his bag on Friday night, striking out 15 Hoyas and allowing just six baserunners, five hits and one walk through nine innings of work. It was the first complete game of Casparius’ career.
UConn provided him with more than enough run support, giving the Hoyas death by a thousand cuts via runs in all but two innings.
