Detectives are trying to find out who assaulted a 20-year-old woman and left her for dead in an Ansonia intersection.
Police received a call about a hit-and-run collision with a pedestrian at Coe and North Coe lanes about 4:50 p.m. Sunday, they said. When officers arrived, they found a woman with upper-body injuries that did not seem to be from getting hit by a car, they said.
The woman was taken to Griffin Hospital in Derby, where she was pronounced dead, according to police.
Police said they found a black Aztek that they believe was involved and have seized the vehicle.
