A Hartford teenager arrested Saturday has been charged for the second time in three months with unlawful possession of a firearm, according to police.
Police tried to pull over 18-year-old Shemar Nelson on Pliny Street at about 2 p.m. Saturday, because his car matched a vehicle that was potentially involved in a shooting earlier this week, according to Lt. Paul Cicero.
Nelson allegedly pulled into a driveway, then took off on foot, chased by officers, Cicero said. He tried to climb a fence, but was stopped by police while “manipulating a firearm in his waistband,” Cicero said in a news release about the incident.
