Wearing a mask, the male walked up between the drive-thru window and a stopped car just after employees finished a transaction at the Ella Grasso Turnpike restaurant, Det. Sgt. Jeff Lampson said.
The robber leaned into the window and lunged toward the cash register drawer, Lampson said. Employees at first tried to fight him off, but backed away after seeing the robber had a gun in his left hand. With his right hand, the thief snatched the cash register tray containing about $300 and took off on foot, Lampson said.
