After a manhunt that spilled across four states, Peter Manfredonia, who police say hacked one man to death and killed another with a bullet to the head, was captured at gunpoint Wednesday night near a Maryland truck stop, tired and scared after six days of running.
Manfredonia, 23, who is expected to face home invasion and kidnapping charges, too, waved extradition to Connecticut during a brief court hearing Thursday in Hagerstown, Md., and is expected to be back in Connecticut within a week or two to face a variety of charges.
The Newtown native did not surrender to police, an official said, but did not fight when officers rushed him and ordered him to the ground.
