After breaking one record for heat, Hartford ties another

The average temperature for June, July and August was 74.4 degrees, which ties the record high set in 1973, said Alan Dunham, a meteorologist with the Boston-area office of the National Weather Service.

Hartford already broke a record for days at 90 degrees or hotter. There were 39 such days this year at Bradley International Airport, which broke a record of 38 days set in 1983. There were 13 90-degree days in August, 20 in July and six in June, Dunham said.

There is no 90-degree weather in the forecast for upcoming days, including during Labor Day weekend, which looks pleasant so far.
