A seven-time convicted felon from Norwalk was arrested after officers there said they found “the largest amount of pure fentanyl that we have ever seized,” in his apartment Tuesday.
At the time of his arrest, Sylvester Edward, 32, was caught with 58 bags of pure fentanyl, several bags of crack cocaine and marijuana. A search of his apartment in Bridgeport shortly afterward turned up 235 folds of pure fentanyl, one loose bag of pure fentanyl (36.6 grams), loose crack cocaine, prescription pills, fake identification cards and equipment to make fake checks, police said.
Edward, who has more than 20 arrests dating back to 2007, escaped police during a pursuit just over a year ago, on April 1, 2020.
