The largest solar array in New England is being proposed on three-quarters of a square mile of open land in East Windsor as Connecticut doubles down on renewables as part of its long-term energy strategy.
The Gravel Pit Solar project would produce 120 megawatts, enough energy for 12,000 homes. The array also would provide the town annual taxes of $380,000 and end a decadeslong trespassing problem, East Windsor First Selectman Jazon Bowsza said Thursday.
