Two people were shot Friday night near Trinity College in Hartford, extending a spike in gun violence in the capital city that police believe may be linked to the months-long impacts the COVID-19 pandemic has had on community services.
The shooting happened after 9:30 p.m. Friday near 40 Henry St., just south of New Britain Avenue and the university campus, Lt. Paul Cicero said.
Information about the condition of the victims was not immediately available. Patrol officers had secured the scene before 10 p.m. and Major Crimes Division detectives were on their way to investigate, Cicero said.
