Two juveniles were detained Thursday in New Haven in connection with a series of carjackings, including several at gunpoint, after police found them near three of the stolen vehicles and a BB gun.
The New Haven incidents were similar to several other carjackings this week in Hamden, all of which also reportedly occurred at gunpoint and involved two teenage boys, police said.
The two juveniles, who were not identified publicly, were detained near Chapel Street and Ellsworth Avenue in the Dwight neighborhood where a vehicle crashed into a house on Thursday afternoon, Capt. Anthony Duff said. Officers found the BB gun and three stolen vehicles in the area near that scene.
