Two men were arrested during a pre-dawn police raid Thursday at a Waterbury home as part of a firearms investigation that also inadvertently uncovered an illegal indoor marijuana grow, according to state police.
The state police tactical unit and Waterbury police seized three handguns and a fourth weapon that police described as an assault rifle, in addition to a set of marijuana plants and prepared crack cocaine and fentanyl, police said Thursday afternoon.
Kevin Matos, 25, and Harrison Regan, 29, were both charged with a series of felony charges and police expected to charge them additional offenses by warrant, but a full accounting of their charges was not immediately Thursday afternoon.
