UCLA's Ishmael Adams gets informal probation after pleading no contest to misdemeanor battery

UCLA football player Ishmael Adams has pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery over a fight he had with an Uber driver last year.

Adams will serve three years of informal probation under a plea agreement, according to the Los Angeles city attorney’s office, with several other requirements and conditions, including anger management and psychological counseling.

The fifth-year senior was charged in October after his August arrest. He allegedly used force to steal a cell phone from Uber driver Cuong Quoc Tudo in Westwood on Aug. 30.

He was suspended indefinitely and reinstated to the team after missing three games when prosecutors declined to file felony charges.
