Prosecutors do not plan to file felony charges against UCLA cornerback Ishmael Adams over the alleged theft of a cellphone from an Uber driver.
Los Angeles city attorney's spokesman Frank Mateljan says that the district attorney referred the case to his office Monday for possible misdemeanor charges against Adams.
After his Aug. 30 arrest by campus police, Adams was suspended indefinitely by the ninth-ranked Bruins and missed the team's first two games, both victories.
