Hailie Mace started it in the 16th minute. Then she ultimately ended it 45 minutes later.
The junior forward outscored Princeton (16-3-1) alone, notching two key goals and propelling UCLA (19-2-2) into the College Cup for the third time in the past five years.
Mace’s first one came as a result of some nifty passing and teamwork. Senior defender MacKenzie Cerda and freshman forward Ashley Sanchez pushed the ball forward and set up Mace. The former defender, who hadn’t scored since Oct. 22, positioned herself perfectly for a header that she pushed into goal.
That wasn’t the lone goal in the first 20 minutes.
