Breaking down No. 13 UCLA’s season-opening matchup against Virginia at the Rose Bowl (Saturday, 12:30p.m., Fox/11):
OFFENSE
As UCLA debuts a true freshman quarterback, expect a healthy dose of running back Paul Perkins, the Pac-12’s leading rusher from a year ago, to help take pressure off young Josh Rosen. Perkins rushed for 80 yards on 16 carries in last season’s game against Virginia, his second-lowest output in any game in 2014, but he was the Bruins’ feature back the rest of the season. Behind an experienced offensive line, with four of its five 2014 starters returning, he should see plenty of touches.
