LOS ANGELES – Ishmael Adams, a defensive back and kick returner for UCLA’s football team who was arrested on suspicion of felony robbery, was released from jail Tuesday at 6:24 a.m.

He was originally scheduled to be arraigned in Los Angeles Superior Court later in the day at 4 p.m., but his court date has been moved to Sept. 22, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department website.

Adams, who started all 26 games at cornerback the past two seasons, was taken into custody by UCLA police near campus early Sunday morning after he allegedly used force to steal a cell phone from an Uber driver, according to university spokesman Ricardo Vazquez.
