UCLA star linebacker Myles Jack out for season with 'significant knee injury'

LOS ANGELES - UCLA junior linebacker Myles Jack is out for the season following a “significant knee injury,” Coach Jim Mora said after practice Wednesday morning.

Jack was injured toward the tail end of practice Tuesday, and underwent surgery later Tuesday night. Mora declined to address what type of knee injury.

“It’s just a significant knee injury,” Mora said. “That’s all anyone needs to know.”

The Bruins have lost three players off their defense to season-ending surgeries this month, including junior defensive lineman Eddie Vanderdoes (knee/ACL) and senior cornerback Fabian Moreau (foot).

The 6-foot-1, 245-pound was UCLA’s most versatile players, moving to inside linebacker during spring practice, and also lining up as a running back on offense.
