LOS ANGELES – Aaron Wallace had a nickname.
“Sleepy,” they called him. It originated, because teammates thought he was falling asleep during film sessions and team meetings. He never was, he insists, but Sleepy was a name that was tough to shake. It seemed fitting for UCLA’s senior linebacker.
“He’s kind of a laid-back kid,” linebackers coach Scott White said.
He is, and at times, almost to a fault.
“The biggest thing with Aaron has never been a talent or ability thing,” White said. “It’s been about having a greater sense of urgency, getting him to go.
