UCLA running back Paul Perkins to skip senior season, enter NFL Draft

UCLA running back Paul Perkins will bypass his senior season and enter the upcoming NFL Draft, he announced Tuesday via social media.

“I am excited about the great opportunities that lie ahead, but at the same time, sad to be leaving my brothers, coaches and wonderful fans,” he wrote in a post on Twitter.

Perkins, who was a redshirt junior, ran for 1,343 yards and 14 touchdowns this fall, one season removed from when he lead the Pac-12 in rushing with 1,575 yards.

The 5-foot-11 Chandler, Ariz., native arrived as a part of Coach Jim Mora’s first recruiting class in 2012.
