The win keeps the Bruins in first place in the Pac-12.
The UC Berkeley Golden Bears held UCLA scoreless through 7-2/3 innings on Saturday at Jackie Robinson Stadium. Unfortunately for the Golden Bears, college baseball games are nine innings long, meaning that UCLA was able to come back with two outs in the bottom of the eighth.
The Bruins' rally started when Christoph Bono singled to second. He moved to second when Luke Persico walked.
UC Berkeley made a pitching change and brought in Chris Muse-Fisher in relief of Alex Schick, but Ty Moore singled up the middle scoring Bono and allowing Persico to advance to third on an error by center fielder Aaron Knapp.
