LOS ANGELES – The game was mirrored with freshman mistakes.
When Josh Rosen threw three first-half interceptions in a game against BYU in September, the 18-year-old looked every bit his age.
Two of Rosen’s interceptions that night at the Rose Bowl occurred as he rolled to his right. Trying desperately to keep the plays alive, he attempted to sail the passes over tall linebackers into double coverage.
“He’s going to look back and it’s going to be a turning point for him,” Coach Jim Mora insisted after the game.
It has been.
Two months later, Rosen is approaching historic territory for what once appeared to be his Achilles’ heel.
