Last January, UC Berkeley Athletic Director Mike Williams announced the firing of Sonny Dykes by saying, “We want someone who is committed to the university long term.”
While Dykes clearly did not win enough football games at Berkeley, his constant interest in other head coaching jobs clearly affected the decision by Williams to fire Dykes.
It’s high time that UCLA Bruins Athletic Director Dan Guerrero take a page from Williams’ book and do what should have been done weeks ago and fire Steve Alford.
Alford is the coach of the UCLA Men’s Basketball team.
