SANTA CLARA - Nebraska ran right, it ran left and it ran all over UCLA’s defense, ending the Bruins’ once-promising season with a 37-29 defeat in the Foster Farms Bowl on Saturday night at Levi’s Stadium.
It was a particularly sour finish for a team that once carried hopes of ending the longest Rose Bowl drought in program history or possibly reaching the four-team College Football Playoff.
UCLA, which was ranked as high as No. 7 in the Associated Press poll and stood one win from a Pac-12 South Division title, finished 8-5 overall, the fewest wins of any of four seasons under Coach Jim Mora.
