While the quarterback situation in Westwood continues to remain unresolved, the Bruins know they can count on Paul Perkins this upcoming season. The rising redshirt junior had a breakout season last year with 1,575 rushing yards and 11 TDs. Perkins averaged 6.3 yards a carry en route to becoming the PAC-12’s leading rusher. He is the first Bruin to become the PAC-12’s leading rusher since DeShaun Foster in 2001. UCLA hopes to lean on Perkins early in the season, as they work through the growing pains of breaking in a new starting quarterback.
