The UCLA football team will be without one of their most explosive defensive players from last season for a few more months as DE/LB Jaelan Phillips recovers form surgery to repair his injured wrist. The injury was due to a scooter accident that occurred a few months before spring practice began.
His injury has kept him out of spring practice, which is the first under new head coach Chip Kelly. Well it looks like Kelly and defensive coordinator Jerry Azzinaro are going to have to wait a little longer to utilize the talents of the athletic edge rusher as it has been reported that he will have to have a second surgery on his wrist.
