LOS ANGELES – Mike Fafaul doesn’t have much game tape to show NFL scouts. That’s what makes every opportunity he gets to show his skills even more important.
Fafaul, who went from career backup to starting quarterback to UCLA record-holder in just six weeks, was one of 17 outgoing seniors participating in UCLA’s annual Pro Day in front of scouts from all 32 NFL teams Tuesday. Former UCLA running back Jordan James and punter Matt Mengal also worked out in front of scouts.
The Bruins had five players represented at the NFL Combine, but for the majority of prospects, Tuesday’s Pro Day was the biggest job interview they’ll face in the process to next month’s NFL draft.
