UCLA defensive lineman Eddie Vanderdoes has season-ending knee injury

UCLA defensive lineman Eddie Vanderdoes will miss the rest of the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee during Saturday’s 34-16 season-opening victory over Virginia, according to multiple reports.

Vanderdoes, a 6-foot-5, 305-pound junior, was seen lifting 300-pound nose tackle Kenny Clark off the ground after Clark caught a touchdown pass during the third quarter. Vanderdoes then collapsed and limped off the field. Coach Jim Mora said Vanderdoes’ knee had “locked up on him” earlier in the game and said during a conference call with reporters Sunday that they were “waiting to see” how Vanderdoes evaluation with a doctor turned out.
