UCLA cornerback Ishmael Adams was arrested early Sunday morning after he allegedly used force to steal an Uber driver's cell phone, UCLA spokesman Ricardo Vazquez told the Register. He was still in custody as of 2 p.m. on Monday, being held on $100,000 bail.
The Daily Bruin first reported the arrest.
Adams, who started 13 games for the Bruins last season, was an All-Pac-12 first-team selection and was slated to start at nickel corner this season.
An athletic department spokesman acknowledged Adams' arrest, but declined further commet, noting that it is a "pending legal matter."
Adams' status with the team heading into Saturday's season opener against Virginia is unclear.
