LOS ANGELES – The crowd of 100,443 at Kyle Field gave Keisean Lucier-South goose bumps Saturday. It was the first crowd of any size he had played in front of in a game in nearly two years. He responded with a standout performance that earned raves from his coaches when his team was shorthanded at the defensive end position.
Coach Jim Mora singled out the redshirt freshman from Orange Lutheran High as someone who stood out when they reviewed video of the game. Lucier-South was explosive, exciting and dynamic in his collegiate debut, the coach said. With starting defensive end Takkarist McKinley slowed by a groin injury and backup Deon Hollins out with a concussion, Lucier-South filled a big role for the Bruins.
