SAN BERNARDINO – There was nothing more to UCLA coach Jim Mora’s expletive-laden scolding of freshman quarterback Josh Rosen on Wednesday than simply tough coaching, the Bruins’ fourth-year coach explained a day later.
“You’re trying to put these guys in stressful situations,” Mora said. “You’re trying to test ’em. You’re sometimes setting things up to see how they handle it. This is where you do all of that. On gameday, what you see me do is support those guys and be there for them.”
Mora’s outburst directed at Rosen came toward the end of a morning practice Wednesday, the first of a scheduled two-a-day.
