LOS ANGELES – Jim Mora wanted to dispel a misnomer.
Faced with a question about UCLA’s transition to a pro-style offense following the team’s first spring practice Tuesday morning, he issued a minute-long clarification.
“It’s completely and totally out of whack with everybody out there who says we’re going to a pro-style offense,” said Mora, who enters his fifth season as the Bruins’ head coach this fall. “I don’t even know what a pro-style offense is, and I coached in the pros for a long time.”
In his January announcement, promoting Kennedy Polamalu to offensive coordinator in place of Noel Mazzone who left for the same position at Texas A&M, Mora vowed for changes on offense, pointing to a new “multifaceted offense” that would involve fullbacks and tight ends.
