The UCLA Basketball team might have lost another vital piece of their program from the 2016-17 season, but they quickly solved that issue as Tyus Edney has been promoted from within the coaching staff and is the new assistant coach.
Edney was hired in 2010 by former Bruin coach Ben Howland to the role of Director of Operations. Edney was retained by current Head Coach Steve Alford in 2012 when he took over the Bruins.
As of Friday morning, Edney now has a bigger role with the team as he takes over as an assistant coach for the recently departed Ed Schilling who left last week to take a position with Indiana and new Head Coach Archie Miller.
